1. Applicable Polyp Size
Cold snares are indicated for diminutive & small polyps ≤ 5 mm, especially flat sessile polyps less than 5mm in diameter.
2. Clinical Application Scenarios
Resection of tiny flat mucosal lesions in stomach, colon and rectum.
Removal of diminutive sessile polyps without electrothermal coagulation.
Screening colonoscopy procedures for small polyp elimination during routine physical examination.
Cases where thermal injury to adjacent healthy mucosa must be avoided.
Patients with high risk of intestinal wall burn, perforation or delayed bleeding from electrosurgery.
Low-risk small polyp removal without extra hemostatic intervention after cutting.
Pediatric gastrointestinal endoscopy for small benign polyps.
3. Unsuitable Situations
Not recommended for polyps larger than 5 mm, pedunculated large polyps or lesions requiring simultaneous cutting and electrocoagulation hemostasis.
